The Raw Diet:  1.    2.    3.    4.    5.    6.    7.    8.

4. Benefits Of A Raw Diet.

Raw foods contain vitamins and enzymes in their natural state.  These enzymes are vital for every biochemical reaction and metabolic process in the body.  Optimal performance of the immune and reproductive systems, liver, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and the blood stream depends upon enzymes and vitamins.  A deficiency of needed nutrients in a diet can lead to deficiencies in the body.  Dr. Williams, of the Clayton Foundation Biochemical Institute at the University of Texas, is convinced that many disorders in both animals and humans occur because cells do not get adequate nutrition.

Commercial pet foods are convenient, but they lack vital enzymes and vitamins due to heat processing, and they provide a fixed formula without any variety of fresh foods. As ingredients are heated, they become less viable and bio-available nutritionally and may be detrimental to health.  Vitamins added back into the food are nominal and at the minimal recommended amounts.

A "species specific" diet promotes a boosted immune system which increases resistance to disease and parasites, and eliminates bad body odor, breath and offensive flatulence.  In addition, it improves digestion, cleans teeth, contributes to strong nails, increased energy levels, clean ears, no anal gland problems, no fleas, healthier skin and coats just to mention a few. Fresh foods will also be beneficial to pets with hip and elbow dysplasia, thyroid problems, arthritis and cancer.
