1. Why Another Raw Pet Food Company ?
Paws and Claws Pet Pantry became a reality seven years ago in
response to our own pets' needs. Our dog Tasha was 2 years old at
the time and had several health problems. Our vet at the time
told us that as the diagnosis was unknown etiology (origin). She
had a dull, dry flaky coat, bad breath, tartar on her teeth, pimples
under her chin and flatulence that could clear a room.
I believe that nutrition is the building block of ones health as I had made all my own baby food when my two children were babies and still am quite selective with what foods my family eats. After reading the ingredients on my pets' food bag I realized that this needed to be the first thing to go. So I began researching and cooking for my dogs. As with humans, the saying," you are what you eat" proved to be true. I never fed kibble again.
With the assistance of my holistic vet (which I had now
switched over to), many books (Dr. Pitcaran, Dr. Ian Billinghurst, Dr.
Martin Goldstein) I quickly moved on to raw feeding. Within weeks we
noticed changes. Tasha's coat became luxurious, the dry flakes
disappeared, her chin cleared up and her energy level increased.
As the months went by she became the vibrant dog she used to be.
Soon friends and neighbors noticed the changes in our pets and asked us to make food for them also. I started to look around for a pre-made raw diet that would make our busy lives easier. Unfortunately I could not find a diet on the market that had the quality and variety I was feeding our pets. Two criteria's were necessary to launch a new raw pet food company; 1) We had to be able to provide the same top quality and extensive variety of products that we fed our animals and 2) to get approval from our holistic vet. Just as with our "PUPPY'S FIRST DINNER" necessity proved to be the "mother of invention".
Over the years we have grown to be able to offer: 13 varieties of canine and 4 varieties of feline meals, the individual products and supplements that go into our meals and a large selection of treats for both cats and dogs. Seven years later Paws and Claws Pet Pantry is still unique among all other raw food companies in upholding the highest level of standards, quality and customer service.
